This year, the annual Speaking 4 the Planet competition was bigger and better than ever. The competition is supported by the Sutherland Shire Environment Centre and sponsored by Paddy Pallin.
The theme, entitled Rewind the Clock – Reverse Ecosystem Degradation, invites students to focus on the United Nations’ Decade of Ecosystem Restoration, which aims to …
“prevent, halt and reverse the degradation of ecosystems on every continent and in every ocean”.
This competition required students to video record their speeches and submit them for judging. The following students participated in the competition: Luke Osiowy, Paige Helm, Molly McWilliams, Indianna Field, Harper Tunney and Carissa Roberts. Carissa Roberts of Year 7 was awarded first place in her division.
Well done Carissa, and congratulations to all participants.
